INTRODUCTION
A. HISTORY AND PROFILE PT. MASSCOM graphy (Gulf Daily)
a. History of the PT. MasscomGraphy (Voice of Freedom)
Office SuaraMerdeka Group has three main offices in Semarang, one
of which was in Peacock Street, the Old Town area of Semarang. At the office
of the company is SuaraMerdeka Group began the business in the field of
information technology in the form of newspapers.
At the beginning (at the end of the Dutch East Indies government in
Indonesia), this building is the office of the newspaper Het Noorden owned by
the Dutch Government. After Indonesia's independence, the building was
nationalized by the government of President Sukarno (when there is tension
between the government of Indonesia and the Kingdom of the Netherlands on the
issue of West Irian). Having nationalized, the building was used as a military
base (Kodim) Indonesian army.
On February 11, 1950, the building was purchased and began work as
a headquarters by the daily SuaraMerdeka. As for the printing of newspapers,
Suara Merdeka still riding on the office of the Dutch-language daily De
Locomotief, located in JalanKepodang (De Locomotief office building now used as
a branch office of Bank MandiriKepodang).
A few years later, Suara Merdekaoccupy this building complete with
its own printing (Printing Semarang). Much space in the building is used as
administrative space, expedition, paper warehouse, and editorial printing.while
occupies only a portion of the main building that is located not far from the
printing space.
Formerly, to find data and information, the newspaper SuaraMerdeka
send five journalists to find sources of news information. Every journalist who
is assigned to find and made headlines around five to ten news of various
topics.
SuaraMerdeka not only has branches in Surakarta with namaSuara
Solo. Meanwhile, in the city of Tegal representative standing by name Suara Pantura Suara Merdeka.
Both branches of the SuaraMerdeka focus on the news that happened in respective
cities and surrounding cities.
SuaraMerdeka editorial offices occupy space on the ground floor,
while the upper floor is used as an office building contractors, PT
Dentraco Dawuh Engineering and Trading Coy. However, in 1996 the company's
contractor stopped contracting in the building Suara Merdeka due to bankruptcy.
Until now, the space on the top floor was not occupied again.
After progressing Suara Merdeka (a Suara Merdeka Group and has
several subsidiaries) and has several main office in Semarang, the building was
used as the PT. Masscom G raphy, the printing company owned Suara Merdeka Group.
While the editorial office moved to Jalan Merdeka Sound Pandanaran, Semarang.
Currently, the building was used as the editorial offices of
several newspapers puppies SuaraMerdeka, the magazine Otospeed, Cempaka,
Tabloid Olga, and Daily Afternoon Insights. While the printing office of PT.
Masscom Graphy moved to an office located at Jalan Kaligawe, Semarang. Besides
being used as some newspaper editorial offices, the building was also used as a
vehicle repair shop owned by SuaraMerdeka Group.
